Romion, a 'big club' plus Roman ideas.

Romion is a Precision system, with an injection of Roman distribution-keyed opening bids.

All no-trump hands (533, 443, 433) open 1 NT (12-15), 2 NT (24+), or 1C.

All 444 hands open 2 C (12-16), or 2 D (17+).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One Club Opening:

This is a balanced 16 - 23, or 17+ with any 5 card suit and a distributional feature. Responder immediately makes a natural response with 6-8, or bids 1 D with 0-5 and most 9+.

There are some well defined ‘positive’ responses:

1 C    2 H     This is all 444 hands of 9+.
1 C    2 S    This shows any 6 card suit, with 2 or 3 top honors, and 9+.
1 C    2 NT    All bal 15+, forcing to 4 NT.

Openers rebid after 1 D response shows hand type:

1 C     1D
 Now, if balanced
1 N          16-20
2 N          21 - 23

If two suits

with one long suit
2 C        Most one suit hands, responder bids 2 D with 0 - 5, others game force.
